The Need for EtherAlert
Reports of narcotic or “sleeping” gases being used on drivers are on the increase. This is a real threat to those who rest or spend the night in their vehicle. The ether-based gases are sprayed into the cab and “knock out” a sleeping driver. This is like being sedated for a medical operation. Theft of loads or the driver’s possesions (eg passport, credit cards) can then be carried out without the driver knowing.
Effective
The EA1200 has been designed as an effective deterrent for such attacks. It is small, neat and robust. The cable is simply plugged into the 12V vehicle cigarette socket and then the unit placed close to the sleeping area. The integral sensor detects ether-based gases at very low levels before they can take effect. When gas is detected a loud buzzer sounds to deter intruders and wake the driver.
Simple to Use
The unit is powered as soon as it is plugged in. After a short warm-up period it is ready for use. Lamps indicate system power, alarm and fault conditions. A push button is used to test the unit. The EA1200 is factory calibrated and requires no replaceable parts or user adjustment.
Portable
The EA1200 is ideal for drivers who use a number of different vehicles or fleet operators with runs to the continent.
Low Power
The latest technology sensors combine high performance with very low power consumption.
