EtherAlert Protects Against Gas Attack Robberies
A new product from gas detection specialists Nereus Alarms Ltd aims to combat the growing problem of caravan and motorhome robberies in which narcotic gas sprays are used to incapacitate occupants. When released into confined spaces, such sprays cause sleeping occupants to become anaesthetised enabling robberies to take place without their knowledge. Worryingly, reports of such incidents on mainland Europe are on the increase.
The EtherAlert is an effective alarm system that detects such gases at low levels and gives a vital early-warning. An ear-piercing 105dB siren is sounded to deter intruders, wake the occupants and warn others close-by.
The system has been designed for easy and flexible installation and consists of a small gas sensor, a 12V electronic control unit (which can be mounted within a cupboard) and a separate high-volume siren. The system is activated by a security key before occupants go to sleep and draws only 60mA of current. It is simple to use and requires no replaceable parts or user adjustment.
